When a florist designs a bridal bouquet, they are creating a work of art. The flowers chosen, their exact placement, everything is done with intention and beauty in mind. Why then should that piece of art only continue to live in photographs? Just as a florist views their craft as an art form so do we here at Of Field and Flora. Both the pressing and design process work together to create a work of art that serves as a family heirloom for generations to come while celebrating life’s sweetest moments.
Sympathy/Special Occasion Preservation
Between celebrating and remembering those that have passed or capturing a sweet memory between loved ones, flowers have a way of showing up and being connected to so many of life’s moments. Whether it’s one flower or a large arrangement, we offer a variety of sizes available to fit your needs.

From start to finish the process should take 4-5 months depending on the time of year. 6-8 weeks or about 2 months is spent on just pressing the flowers. Another 3-4 weeks is spent on mapping out the design, gluing and making any final adjustments before framing and shipping takes place!

While I will never say no to pressing a flower, some press better than others and some colors hold up better than others. Because of the unique nature of our design process I am able to use at least part of most flowers in a design even if it is considered a more difficult flower.

My current favorites are stock, cosmos, fritillaria, chamomile, phlox and clematis. Current least favorites are red ranunculus (because they turn almost black after pressing every time) and dahlias because of their large centers but I do love utilizing their petals.
